... done so much for me I would like and want to return something positive back into the school, and I feel that this is an excellent opportunity for me to achieve my goal. - Leadership - I teach a large class of children at Cheder including me planning work for them. - Ability to work in a team - I exhibited this skill on the Duke Of Edinburgh expedition - Ability to work as an individual - I am able to use my initiative which can be seen when I designed a computer presentation for the prospective Parents Evening this school year. - Ability to grasp a situation and respond appropriately - I exhibited this skill during my time in Yemin Orde when a friend of mine had an asthma attack and I ...
... to replace mainfold heaters that were available for owner installation. Those who did not have heaters put hot coals under their car to get the oil warm before they went into town. In the 30's larger tires with safety tubes were developed, and carried less air pressure compared to the old narrow, solid rubber tires which required about sixty pounds of air pressure. This gave a much smoother ride. So called permanent anti-freeze became available to use in place of alcohol which had a low boiling point. Many cars did not have trunks, but people could purchase trunks to attach to the back of their car to be used as storage. Some cars did not have fuel pumps; instead they depended on gra ...

Another holder of private information would be the Department of Defense, withholding war information and military technology. So far the primary legal uses of GIS are the access to information, product liabilities and breaching of contracts. But GIS is relatively new so there are definitely more uses of GIS in law in the near future. (Epstein, p.498) Now on to the political arena and the uses of GIS in this area. I will use the state of Iowa as an example. The state government used GIS to redraw congressional and l ...
... the temperature was an awesome 85 degrees for fishing the San Juaqin river. We found ourselves the trail that lead to the postpile, twisting and turning along the green, damp trial until we came upon a sight that every human being should lay their eyes on, Devils Postpile. Enormous rocks all rubbing against one another scalling the sky. Jumping my way close to the river, as I drifted away from everyone else, knowing I was going to catch the mother of all fish in this sacred river. Competing with my father and brother, I definetly was'nt going to let them outdo this modern day Tom Sawyer. I hicked along river for a while, wiping the sweat off my face every other minute, only to fin ...
... Trash strings the streets and every dwelling has an eight foot, black, metal fence circuitously about it. Two white faces gape over the hood of a parked Cadillac. Besides the police parked down the block, they are probably the only Caucasians in a five mile square radius. Two companies of drug dealers fire at will scrambling for control of a superior capital making outpost. Even at nine o'clock in the morning the combat tract roars on. I was one of those faces peering over the car hood with horror and revolution in my eyes. N. Richmond is a product of the same type of oppression and violence that hacks deep into the people of N. Ireland. In the logical evolution of an oppressed pe ...
... I watched his arms, spread out, as he balanced. I followed with my eye the cigarette in his right hand as it glowed, spearing through the night. I ran up the ramp and crouched down next to Matt, Eddie, Gavin and Jared. They all yelled my name as Matt tackled me to the floor of the platform. I tripped Matt over and rolled across next to Eddie. I grabbed his bottle of Tequila and took a swig, the salty liquid burnt down my throat, and the warmth cradled my body. I grabbed a skateboard off Jared and pumped my way up the transition of the ramp. The rush as I flowed back and forth swept my consciousness off to internal thoughts. I smiled as I thought of Carla. My thoughts were broken as my ...
... of warmth. I opened my eyes and saw the sun glaring down at me. I looked around seeing enjoyment on everyone’s faces and hearing laughs from all directions. Four people were standing underneath the canopy trying to escape from the sizzling cement, eating watermelon, and having a “spitting for distance” contest. Two people were sun bathing in lawn chairs. The others were in and out of the pool showing off. The shimmering blue water reflected the sun like a mirror. When I looked away all I could see were color spots from the light. I could hear the crack and spring of the diving board as someone did a belly flop. The sound of the body hitting the water sent shivers up my spine. A co ...
... beagle could never quite get over a loss. Mustard lay his head on the ground and watched the passage of time on the street while Scampi vented. Soon, Roy the Basset and his owner walked by. Mustard nodded hello. "Who's that?" Roy asked, looking in the tree. "Dunno. New in town." "Which house?" "No house." "Freeloader, hm? Give him one from me." Roy's owner shushed him. Poor guy. Owner was one of those uppity types who had to have everything perfect. Mustard rolled on his belly. They had better catch the thing quick, or the whole neighbourhood would ridicule them. The brazen cat had been rooting around in gardens for a while, a slap in the face even to the cats, of whom there was a ...
... doing my homework she would encourage me and help to keep my spirits up. I appreciate what she has done for me and I love her very much. The thing that I have enjoyed the least about is knowing that it's almost over and I still don't have a clue what I want to be after I get out of high school. The whole thing kind of scares me. I've gone through four years of high school, completed all of my classes with fairly good grades, yet, I am trapped in this little hole, stuck here wondering what to do next. I worry about this subject often and pray to God that he will lead me in the right direction. For my senior challenge I am working with a group of seniors. Our group is called Community 101. ...
... we were out of earshot, in a mocking tone, I said to my friend, "Hi, I'm an American, I'm a dumb-ass!" With that defeat behind us, we continued on our quest for some American money. Eventually, by wandering aimlessly about the mall, we managed to find an information desk. I walked up to the woman behind the desk, and said, "Hi, would I possibly be able to exchange my Canadian money for some American money?" With a really confused look on her face she responded with, "What do you mean?" I reached into my pocket, and pulled out my twenty dollar bill. Waving it in her face, I repeated the question. It took a few seconds, but she finally seemed to figure out what I was saying. "No, ...
