... side of the speaker is against each wall. For this reason, the bass is extended (louder), and the tweeters, mid-range, and woofers give you their undivided attention. Where to sit is simple, but it takes some easy calculations to find the perfect spot. There is a common rule for a person to experience the full effect of the music. In order to do this, measure the distance between the two speaker cabinets. If the speaker's cabinets are placed twelve feet apart from each other, divide twelve feet in half, which gives us six feet. That's the middle, so mark that location. From that mark, measure twelve feet back, and mark that spot on the floor. You have found the perfect spot ...
... sound made by the guitar as it played on the off beats. This music served as the basis for the slower rocksteady music style which later spawned the ever-popular reggae genre. Ska music finally made its world debut in New York at the 1964 world's fair at the Jamaican exhibition. By this time ska was an established musical genre. Ska later emigrated to England where the English began to develop their own style ska, which is seen in the second wave of ska. Ska music can be divided into three waves, or periods. Each wave has a characteristic style and sound distinguishing it from the others. Each wave also has bands that represent them respectively. The first wave began in the 1950's ...
... enhancement which greatly enhanced the quality of music in video games is the number of bits which a sound Central Processing Unit (CPU) has. The sound CPU is a component in a video game system which controls every single sound which a system produces. This, then, obviously includes music. Specifically, the CPU controls what sounds are to be played at what time, their volume and dynamics, and each sound's length and rhythm. In a sense, the sound CPU acts as a conductor who has absolute control over every single instrument in his orchestra. The increase of the number of bits serves to improve music quality by increasing the number of channels of sound which can be played at the sam ...
... There is not any fancy art work or anything. I think Van Halen is strong enough to let their music be the artwork for the album. They took their hit songs from all of their records and put them in order by year. The first song, Evolution, incorporates a monstrous guitar solo by non other than the master himself, Eddie Van Halen. The next five tracks are not included in my favorites due to simple fact that I was too young to recognize the songs when they were first out. Still awesome songs, they just don’t get me psyched up like the later tracks. These songs include “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love”, “Runnin’ With The Devil”, “Dance The Night Away”, “And The Cradle Will Rock”, and “Unchained”. ...
... felt about being an unknown artist into an artist who is well-known. He replied, “I know I lost respect. But I had to raise my daughter. I didn’t go to high school and this was all I had” (Fanatic 1). Though, emcees such as Buck65 state their opinion about Eminem. “Eminem was a great emcee. Choosing that path made him famous and wealthy. But that path ruined his reputation. He knows that he has messed up” (Buck65 2). In my opinion, music is what you enjoy and like. For me, the underground will always be with me. Emcees like Eminem have to do what they do. That’s how life is and can’t do anything about it. Of all, music should be all for the love and because you want to do it. ...
... employed the vernacular, and consequently promoted memorization. The ninth edition of the Bay Psalm Book, published in 1698, was the first edition published with tunes. This edition had printed the letters F-S-L-M, representing the solmization syllables fa, sol, la, and mi, under the notes. This indicates that there was a familiarity with and an interest in music instruction as applied to psalmody. It was not until the early 18th century, however, that as a direct result of agitation by ministers for a reformation in congregational singing, arguments were advanced promoting regular singing and the eventual establishment of singing schools. The singing school grew out of the employment ...
... driver rather than one with perfect vision. In addition many of the musicians use drugs and stimulants to satisfy their hunger for themselves and for pure fun. The musicians tend to use drugs massively, to get out of the very real world that they consist so much a part of. Popularity seems pleasing but when one has the affections and total devotion of a mass of people, that person can not handle it because that person does not have Jesus' personality and only He could truly control that much fidelity. One person who truly could not handle the excitement was Jimi Hendrix(Appendix A). Instead of performing as himself and using his talent for good, he used rebellion and used many drugs. On sta ...
... became a necessity. In the 30's this trend prevailed, musical elements of Afro-American culture were showcased primarily in dramas rather than in musicals. In Hall Johnson's "Run, Little Chillun!", a folk drama about the conflict between the Christian and African religious heritage in black life, critics praised the marvelous choral music. While Johnson called his work a drama, Time suggested that he had written an opera, something rarely achieved or even considered by black artists working on Broadway. Although the thought of an opera with a black cast and created by black talent was a rarity, it was not unprecedented. Bob Cole had spoken about an opera based on Uncle To ...
... dies in his last video released under the name "Tupac". His new video "Toss It Up" from the new album was released under the name "Makaveli . second video to be released by the name Makaveli is "To Live and Die in L.A." But how could they shoot the second video when he is "dead". Do you really think the video was shot 4 months ago, back in August of '96? Think about it in. the video "Hail Mary" released under the name Makaveli, there is a gravestone that says Makaveli. But the gravestone is cracked and there is a hole right in front of it, inferring that Makaveli rose from the dead. In interviews prior to the shooting, Tupac talked about how he wanted to stop rapping and being a gangsta a ...
... considered his best work.3” Burroughs is in fact though, “the only major beat figure not strongly influenced by Buddhist thought.4” Jack Kerouac, who had wrote the great novel, On The Road, contained great reference to jazz. It contained the idea of spontaneous prose which Kerouac thought of while listening to jazz. Spontaneous prose was “the style of being true to one’s beliefs and idealism’s”, and this reflected the beat’s movement and spontaniety. Jazz was definitely an essential for the beats in . Jazz was a form of music created by African Americans. It was a mix of American and African music. Jazz had big attractions and influences on the Beats. Jazz could easily give t ...
