... to AIDS research are sufficient if they are used properly. I would try to put pressure on the legislators to have a bill passed that would define the ways money should be spent, and to monitor the progress of finding a cure for this deadly disease. Second and more importantly is the matter of education. AIDS is not just a gay issue, it is a problem that affects everyone of us. The message of educating our children on drugs appears to be working. The same should be done about AIDS. It is important for sex education to be taught in the schools no later than the junior high school level. We as a country need to be aware of the danger of AIDS, and I believe that the most effective way is fo ...
... Carolina. We lived in a duplex for six months, just long enough for the three of us to find a house. Then we moved only five miles away to a place I could finally call “home.” In August of 1988, I started kindergarten, at Swansboro Primary School. In October of that same year Mom gave birth to my sister Kira. In 1990, to my sister Kristy was born. The next year went on to Swansboro Elementary School, where I was involved in many plays and activities and kept my grades up with honors. I was also enrolled in Spanish classes throughout elementary school. Also in 1991, I was baptized and saved on my ninth birthday. In May of 1993, Mom went through another divorce, which sent us back ...
... up at the sky, hoping I would tune out the dreadful noises of drunken men. A shadow crossed my face, blocking the stars glow. A sudden rush of fear went through my body. Just when I leapt to my feet to see what was outside the door to the mead-hall opened. My jaw fell to the ground when I saw a devilish monster standing with its mouth watering. I quickly and quietly opened the near by window and crept out. Lucky for me the giant’s eyes and mine never met. I watched as it prowled the hall looking for something to eat. It snatched one man and bit off his head, still no one woke from their drunken sleep. With the taste of flesh still on its tongue it searched more to satisfy its craving. Its ...
... boyfriend. She was always the center of attention, and made no effort to ever hide her emotions or problems. Overall, Laura had a great personality and always knew how to cheer any one of us up. All of this began to change after our best friend Lauren confessed that she had an eating disorder. This news surprised us all. Lauren was really skinny, but so was her entire family. She always ate a lot, so we never suspected a problem. It made us all really upset, but Laura seemed to have a different view of Lauren's problem. I don't know if she was competing for attention or if she really wanted to lose weight, but Laura soon became obsessed with her weight. She went on diet after di ...
... I knew as a watch standee myself that the rear watch must report to the forward watch every fifteen minutes leaving me plenty of opportunities to come and go and I only needed two. My bed was near the rear of the barracks so I was in luck. I would also have to dress dark to blend into the surroundings. I took my dark blue sweats and a black ski mask and hid them under my blankets. “Mail call,” yelled the mail officer! That was the call for the division to line up in front of there bunks at attention. At 9:50 p.m. every night I would pray for letters from Bobbie and my friends back home. I did not realized how important my friends where and how much I loved Bobbie until I had left ...
... use to pass the time. I would bring my alpine ski equipment along with my rock climbing gear to the earth's frozen basement. The two passions of my life are snow skiing and rock climbing. On the Antarctic continent lie many mountain ranges that have the world's driest and most plentiful powder, and the most magnificent rock and ice faces and cliffs. These conditions are a skier's and rock climber's heaven. The mountains could provide me with a sense of extreme pleasure and make my stay in the earth's freezer well worth it. There is one problem with skiing in Antarctica, there are no ski lifts. This would pose a problem to me if I didn't have my climbing gear. However, I was intellig ...
... bet!" said Katie, who was a ghost. "Well, what are we waiting for?" Jenny asked, she was a witch. They went to 98 houses before they went to the haunted house. They got 5 candies at each house, so they each have 490 candies. The 98th house was their last house except the haunted one which is supposed to be deserted. Chapter 2 The Fright They got to the haunted house. They knocked on the door. The door opened all by itself. They got scared. They started walking inside the house. They went into a bedroom. All of a sudden Jenny saw a man pop out of the bedroom closet quietly. She was about to scream, but he shoved her in the closet in the nick of time. The man loo ...

On the next morning she took him to the court and said to Periodic Table: “You was wrong when you said that Copper is the worse metal, because he is one of man's most important metals. May be he is not so nice as Gold and Silver, because he is reddish colored, but he takes on a bright metallic luster, and he is malleable, ductile and a good conductor of heat and electricity. Copper occasio ...
... At the next several doors, Henchard was very stubborn. When he would at first be refused, he would insist upon a chance to prove his worthiness by performing some task for the shopkeeper. Most simply refused, but at some places it got him in the door to speak as best he could on his own behalf. It was near the end of the street that one shopkeeper agreed to take on Henchard's services, but only after he had insisted on delivering a package for the man to a customer across town. When he returned, the shopkeeper offered to pay him for his general labor, but at a rate that was far below anything necessary to subsist upon. Henchard, though disappointed, argued the value of his ability ...
... they'll get." His statement was met with a round of deafening cheers, which soon died back down. "You are all people of war... and when we clash tomorrow, I want you to do what you do best. I want you to destroy whoever gets in your way." Another round of cheers exploded, then died down. "Tomorrow, milk will be released from the confines of their bodies... it will flow through o'er the plains like a river... and will dye the moon white!" He held up his large tankard of ale to the ceiling. "We will show our true selves to The Great One In The Sky... we will show our Lord, the mighty Black Angus, that we are worthy of him! To YOU, my Lord!" Mike lowered his arm and swilled the remaind ...
