... quiet which would give them an opportunity to read which could make one more wise, but who can really learn that early in the morning? Who exactly is going to become wealthier as a result of going to sleep earlier and waking up earlier? I think that the average business person would become less wealthy as a result of going to bed and getting up early. It would be pointless for a company to open before the average consumer is even awake and it would be foolish to miss out on business due to closing early so one's employees could get to bed early. I suppose that if one were a cat burglar one might become more wealthy by conducting business while most of the world is still in asleep, b ...
... opinion, that the fetus is a human and that it has a right to life and that is why I believe in early abortions. I feel that your viewpoint would cause many problems. One problem is that your viewpoint allows no abortions, that allows no consideration for the mother of the family that would be effected by that child. Also, pro-lifers do not agree with sex-education in schools this would lead to more teen pregnancies which would lead to children giving birth to children. A huge problem that would occur if there was no abortion would be illegal abortions. Illegal abortions would cause women to become law breakers, and may even cause many women to die. My viewpoint does not lead to all ...
... the god of yoga is "a special person untouched by misery, desire, or action and its results... He is the teacher of the ancient teachers" (Nikhilananda 680). The goal of the yogi, one who studies yoga, is to reach the state of pure intelligence, which is the soul's true essence, by suppressing all other mental activities (Nikhilananda 680). In order to reach this state, The yogi fixes himself in an immobile bodily position and fixes his mind on an inanimate object such as a spot on the floor or the tip of the nose. This intense concentration is the point of departure for the yogi (Eliade 520). Through constant meditation the yogi hopes to isolate his soul from his body, This is known as ...

The most common visual defects are nearsightedness and farsightedness. In nearsightedness, also known as myopia, the eye is longer than usual. This is corrected by using a concave lens to spread the light rays just enough to increase the eye's focal length. Hyperopia, also known as farsightedness, is caused by a shorter than usual eye. A convex lens increases light bending and returns the point of focus to the retina. ... to give them an edge in athletics. However, this was most limited to vitamins, minerals, and the ever popular “weight gainer”, which consisted mostly of sugar and protein. Similarly, people who wanted to loose weight looked to magical pills composed of tropical plants, strange chemicals, or chromium picolinate. Though there may be benefits in taking some of these supplements, none gave the user the results they were really looking for. In 1993, a seemingly “magical powder” was released that claimed to add strength and power, build lean muscle, boost endurance, and reduce bodyfat. Though most people were skeptical at first, numerous studies and millions of customers agree that creati ...

The manic episodes are characterized by elevated or irritable mood, increased energy, decreased need for sleep, poor judgment and insight, and often reckless or irresponsible behavior (Hollandsworth, Jr. 1990 ). Bipolar disorder is diagnosed if an episode of mania occurs whether depression has been diagnosed or not (Goodwin, Guze, 1989, p 11). Most commonly, individuals with manic episodes experience a period of depression. Freud refined Breuer's method by conceptualizing theories about it and, using these theories, telling his patients through interpretations what was going on inside the unconscious part of their minds, thus making the unconscious become conscious. Many hysterias were cured this way, and in 1895, Breuer and Freud published their findings and theories in Studies in Hysteria. CLASSIC PSYCHOANALYTIC THEORY Traditional psychoanalytical theory states that all human beings are born with instinctual drives that are constantly active even though a person is usually not conscious of thus being driven. Two drives--one for sexual pleasure, called libido, the other called ...
... to come. The main controversy is should abortion be legalized? First before we get into the many sides of abortion we must first define abortion. Abortion is the destruction of the fetus or unborn child while the child is still in the mothers womb. This can be done by almost anyone from the mother herself to back alley abortions and even to abortions by clinics set up especially for this purpose. There are two sides to this abortion topic the PRO-LIFE which is those who are against abortion altogether and the PRO-CHOICE or those who believe it is the womans right to choose if she wants to have an abortion. These two groups offer different solutions to problem. The pro-life solut ...
... the subject; Maria Malaka, a first year student at SPJC stated, “I hate when people smoke near me, it makes me sick!”. Just about every nonsmoker I asked had close to the same opinion. Of the 24 students I interviewed 5 were smokers. Why should so many of us have to suffer for a small percent of students to reap the benefits? The administrators know the effects of smoking, I guess they’re just not concerned about the well being of their students. Second hand smoke should not be a problem on our campus. SPJC administrators should address the problem, and provide the means to alleviate it. One solution, that will accommodate both smokers and nonsmokers, is to establish a designated smoking a ...
