America claims to be accepting of other cultures. We all have
equal liberties; it even says so in our Constitution. Yet in the 1870’s,
the United States of America did the antithesis. The destruction of Native

to ocean. The Indian civilizations were in the way of this goal. They
pushed multiple Indian tribes into small reservations. This caused an
unwelcome blend of cultures. The government officials, in attempt to break
up the Indian tribe, passed the Allotment Act. This act broke the Indian
tribes into individuals. It allotted small parcels of land to Indians.
Many settlers adopted Indian children to obtain their land. This act, not
only destroyed the tribal system, but also damaged the lives of many
