As I have stated before in 1992 there was a changing event when four species of salmon were placed on the Endangered Species List. According to a Protecting the Environment ’99 article “A look at the impacts of removing dams” by Chris Fowler, it states, “The listing triggered a series of events which have led the Army Corps of Engineers to consider the removal of four dams on the Lower Snake River.” There is no disputing the fact that the number of native salmon swimming in the rivers and streams of the Pacific Northwest are dangerously low levels.
