They shared their skills and ideas with the people they met, and adapted new methods to adjust to the new environments. The Bantu followed the Congo River through the rain forests. There they farmed the riverbanks, which was the only place suitable to support agriculture. As the Bantu moved eastward into savannas, they learned new techniques from herding goats and sheep to raising cattle.
