The speaker of the poem needs to continue on his journey but the peacefulness of the snowy woods prolongs his departure. My intention with this essay is to show the contrast between the speakers desire to observ .... Middle of Term Paper ... the poem, the speaker expressed his thoughts through his horse. An example of this was demonstrated in stanza 5. He was self-conscience about being lost; so his concern may have been why his thoughts were voiced through his horse. Yet, he made no attempt to leave the woods immediately. We learn that the speaker's character is similar to the tone of the poem. For instance, the topic of the poem is about a snowy evening in the woods, which could be viewed as pleasant and easy going as oppose to a hot summer evening in the city which is most often busy and frantic with lots of things to do.
