In the play, Death of a Salesman, Linda Loman is the character that is at fault for the downfall of her two son’s, Happy and Biff, and her husband Willy. Linda is a controlling mother figure who doesn’t allow her family members to become any .... Middle of Term Paper ... the truth about himself. She also gives Willy undeserved compliments on his ideas of ambition when he has none. This causes Willy to believe he is a great man when he is just "… a dime a dozen" (132).
Willy isn’t the only one Linda affects throughout the play. Biff and Happy are also under her effects. Willy always told the boys that if you were handsome, opportunity would come to you.
