While reading by Sophocles, I could not help but feel confused. With the play named after what I thought was the title character, I assumed that would be the hero (heroine). As Aristotle described in The Poetics, the tragic hero is one who .... Middle of Term Paper ... after the death of his wife and son. Both of these characters experienced an epiphany, a point in their lives when they realized that things have changed for the worse. They both had hubris, and both suffered for it. Hence, my confusion. Can there be more than one hero in a Greek tragedy, or is there something that I am missing.
